the New issue is chunking along. It looks like November now will be when it is released.
This zine/publication emerges from a simple yet profound realization: we can put in the world what we personally yearn to see. It's born not out of a desire to inspire or encourage, but from a deeper, more introspective place—a need to articulate and explore.
"Who cares?". This zine is meant to be a lighthearted exploration of that paradox, open to evolution and reinterpretation. It's an invitation to join in loosening the grips of our biases, to laugh at the absurdity of our preconceptions, and to discover the beauty and complexity of art in a way that's unburdened by the weight of fitting in.
Hi i'm Johnerick Lawson. I like to say I navigate the complex waters of artistic entitlement and purpose. Yet, amid these internal debates, the act of creation remains a constant. My journey isn't about carving out a niche as an authority or offering revelations that shift the very ground you stand on. Instead, it's about living through the paradoxes that life unfurls, embracing the chaos and beauty in equal measure. At the core of my work is an appreciation for the uncountable influences that shape us—people known and unknown, voices from the past, and those who walk beside us. They are the unseen threads weaving through the spaghetti of our lives, imbuing us with the strength, sorrow, and love that define our collective human hunger. It's this intricate web of connections and the desire to express the inexpressible that drives my creative process.lol
"Who Cares LOL" is a distinctive, free zine that dives into the heart of Arlington's art scene, offering its limited editions as prized possessions in selected spots around town. My approach is more observational than opinionated, allowing me to explore and understand my unconscious biases as they unfold publicly. This helps me adjust and possibly create an optimistic path for others to stumble upon. I chose to keep it free so that the effort is not muddled with value other than the observed work put in by all the artists and art movements that make it possible. While the production costs fall on me, I am committed to maintaining its purity and authenticity. If you believe in what I do and want to support me, I welcome your help, but rest assured, "Who Cares LOL" will always be driven by the effort to uncoil the comfort of certainty in perspective while not ripping the whole picture up.

I hand deliver the zines, so they might not always be available. However, let me know if a spot is empty, and I'll swing by to refill it if I have more zines available.
Rossana's Coffee Truck is usually stocked, and I've ordered the list by the likelihood of finding a copy.
